Manly Waterfront Apartment Renovation

Project Description

The project was a renovation on a 3 bedroom waterfront apartment which included the demolition and removal of the existing kitchen, bathroom, ensuite, laundry, built in robes and floor coverings. We designed and constructed the joinery. This included kitchen, laundry and robes. High end appliances and stone benches were also fitted. A complete electrical upgrade was completed to ensure that new lighting and appliances could be used efficiently and safely. Ceilings, tiling and plumbing was upgraded in the bathroom, ensuite and laundry. New doors and hardware were fitted before the whole apartment was painted.

Obstacles that were Overcome

We were informed during the renovation by Strata that by-laws has recently changed. This meant that magnesite floor covering has to be removed. The damaged concrete slab areas were repaired and leveled. Undertaking this task put a strain on time lines. After stripping tiled walls in the ensuite, we discovered that structural brickwork was cracked and damaged. We replaced all damaged brickwork to ensure that the room would be structurally sound.

The end result was really pleasing for Emma, Rob and ourselves. The best quality carpentry and joinery was highlighted by using quality appliances and fittings. This was achieved by having a close relationship with our clients Emma and Rob. We communicated regularly to ensure that they were pleased with our quality of work. We were also transparent about making changes which would lift the overall result on completion of the project.
