Sydney Salon Renovation

Project Description

This was a challenging project given the short two-week time frame. We moved the seating layout to accommodate the new mirrors and hair wash stations. In addition the salons existing electrical and hydraulic services were running across the wall and floor junctions which was unsightly and hazardous.

Our primary objective was to protect these services from damage but at the same time make this aesthetically pleasing. We developed a unique approach of boxing in each of these services uniformly around the salon floor which also allowed us to raise the new mirrors independently on each wall. Recessed LED strip lighting was used to project light behind the mirrors to provide a stylish high-end finish.

New hair wash basins and storage joinery with Caesarstone bench tops were installed on an elevated level off the floor plate again with LED strip lights shining out underneath the joinery. Storage was essential for this area and the Caesarstone bench tops are perfect for keeping the work surface nice and clean.

After the flooring had been sanded back and re-coated with a hard wearing polyurethane finish it was then time to install the new display cabinets and reception desk. In such a large open space these items had to be made fairly large but at the same time also welcoming and not too dominating.

Finally we installed decorative lighting throughout the salon,  painted the walls and ceiling selecting a colour palette to keep everything light and fresh providing the perfect environment for the stylists to create that perfect finish.

The salon is ARTIS hair and beauty, 6 Bridge Street, Sydney.
